IDAS OFFICER TRAINEES VISIT NISARG GRAM IN PUNE

The Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) Officer Trainees of Batch 2023, as part of their training curriculum at the National Academy of Defence Financial Management (NADFM), visited the National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN) ‘NISARG GRAM’ in Pune today.Nisarg Gram was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Ministry in February this year and is India’s first government naturopathy hospital of 250 beds with multi-disciplinary research and an extension service centre.

NADFM is a Central Training Institute under the Defence Accounts Department, Ministry Of Defence, and is the parent academy responsible for providing training to IDAS officers selected through the UPSC examination. NADFM is also accredited under the National Standards for Civil Service Training Institutions (NSCSTI) under the Capacity Building Commission under Mission Karmayogi.

The visit to Nisarg Gram was organised as a part of the continuing endeavour of the NADFM to promote holistic development of the Officers through diverse exposure across sectors and disciplines. During the day-long visit, the officer trainees participated in engaging sessions and practical demonstrations led by experts in naturopathy. They explored a wide range of natural healing techniques, dietary regimens, and lifestyle interventions advocated by the institute. This hands-on experience provided them with invaluable insights into the integration of naturopathic approaches alongside conventional health practices.

Prof. Dr. K. Satya Lakshmi, Director of NIN Pune, engaged with the IDAS Officer Trainees, delivering an enlightening session on the intricacies of naturopathic principles and lifestyle disorders. Her expertise illuminated the holistic approaches to health and wellness, emphasizing the integration of natural healing methods with conventional medical practices.

Shri Dhiraj Dharamchand Gugale, Joint Director, NADFM, Pune highlighted the need importance of the visit to such institutions for the personal well-being of officers and overall professional growth, since in their career IDAS officers are often involved in similar large-scale projects as financial managers and budget controllers.

The National Institute of Naturopathy is renowned for its expertise in naturopathic healthcare and research and this collaboration with NADFM underscores the institute’s dedication to fostering partnerships and facilitating knowledge exchange among diverse professional groups.
