Pune : , Artificial Limb Centre, Pune had the distinguished honor of hosting Padmashree Muralikant Petkar, the esteemed Paralympic gold medalist. Mr. Petkar, who is renowned for his remarkable achievements and contributions to the paralympic sports community, was welcomed by Brig CN Satish, Commandant ALC and all ranks.
During his visit, Mr. Petkar toured the Centre, engaged with all the patients and staff of the Centre, as well as interacted with a group of school children who were on a visit to ALC. His presence was a definite boost to the morale and determination to the amputee patients as he is symbol of unwavering determination against all odds – physical, mental and social. In a compelling address to the staff and patients, Mr. Petkar shared his personal journey of overcoming adversity, serving as an inspiration for all and fostering an environment of hope and motivation within the Centre.
Artificial Limb Centre, Pune, is the premier rehabilitation centre of the Indian Armed Forces. Over the course of its near 80 years in service, ALC has managed to not just rehabilitate thousands of Amputee Patients but also to instil in them a hope that the future will be better. Mr. Petkar is one of the examples of the individuals who not only aimed for that bright future but also serves as a beacon of hope for other amputee patients and their families
